Doviello
  • Human Nations of Origin:

    Doviello:
    • The Doviello come about during The Age of Ice. When most of humanity was cowering inside their cities or any shelter they could find a small subset of humans decided to throw off the shackles of society and embrace the ice age. They started out as nomadic hunters, traveling across the plains, killing anything they could for food and materials. However, their life style quickly became that of raiding scavengers. They would attack anyone they could find for supplies. Regardless of this they still took care of their own, they took care of their elderly and sick, nurtured their children…

    • Until Charadon that is. Charadon was a young child of the Doviello and was out hunting with a group when he realized he had gotten lost. He almost started to panic, but realized it would do him no good. Instead he began searching for any signs of the group. As he crested a hill he saw a pack of wolves. While the Doviello said they based their life style off that of wolves, Charadon had never seen wolves before, not up close anyways. They hadn’t noticed or scented him, so he watched them. He was completely enthralled with the wolves, and followed them over the next couple of weeks. During his time watching them he learned that the wolves were brutally efficient. If a pack member was ill or to old they were left behind, or if there was no immediate food source used as food for the rest of the pack; young that were born sick or with any deformities were killed by their fathers and thrown away. At first the brutality of the wolves made Charadon uneasy, but he couldn’t get past how efficient they were. Then after a few weeks he saw smoke and followed the sight of the smoke back to his people’s encampment. He stood looking at the camp absolutely disgusted by what he saw there. His people were weak and worse yet glorifying that weakness. He watched as food was brought to the elderly, he watched as children were nursed by their mothers, and the sick were treated with herbal medicine and taken care of. He realized with liberating and dreadful clarity what he had to do.

    • He stood on the hillside and watched as the wolf pack he had been following for the past weeks attacked the camp. Without expression he watched the wolves drag his mother out of her tent and fight over her entrails, and as his father attempted to stop them only to be ripped apart. Eventually the strong members of the clan managed to fend off the wolves. Those were the strong, they were the ones worthy of living, they would be the future of the Doviello. Charadon made his way down to them, so he could lead them into the future.

    • As you can see from the origin of the Doviello, the Doviello are a subset of humanity who live based on blood shed. The Doviello of current times are still led by Charadon; however, he has gotten to a much more ripe age, and not all the Doviello are as blood thirsty as they were in his time. Regardless the Doviello raid everyone. They kill or incorporate every civilization they find. Their sheer cruelty is unmatched. A typical battle for the Doviello starts with the Doviello using simple tools as weapons such as large rocks, branches, etc. Once they start killing they pick up the dead bodies of those they have killed and use them as large meaty flails. Once the bodies they are using as weapons have deteriorate to the point of not being viable as flails there’s typically more than enough bodies or weapons laying around for the Doviello to pick up and make use of. Even the most veteran armies fear battling Doviello raiding parties because of their cruelty, their ferocity, and because no matter how veteran a solider may be they always come out scared after seeing a Doviello raid.
